Our history

  • 1990

    The origin of a large group. Deoleo was born from a company called Arana Maderas, S.A., which in 1990 became the Arana Industrial Group. In 1992 the new group acquired the company Hijos de J. Sos Borrás, S.A., and after its merger, it was renamed Sos Arana Alimentación.

  • 2001

    We enter the world of oil. With the acquisition of Cuétara, Sos Cuétara is founded. At the end of 2001 the group acquires the company Koipe, the owner of major brands such as Carbonell and Koipesol.

  • 2003

    In 2003 the group acquires the company American Rice.

  • 2007

    Our brands, the best in the world. After acquiring the Italian brands Sasso, Carapelli, Friol and Bertolli, the company becomes the olive oil group with the best brands in the world.

  • 2011

    Deoleo is born. The group initiates a restructuring process in order to enhance efficiency and profitability. This involves selling Cuétara and the rice business.

  • 2012

    Ambassadors of olive oil. Deoleo sells its products in more than 80 countries. It has its own factories in Spain and Italy and subsidiaries in 15 other countries. It is the leader in Spain and Italy and is continuing to expand in the USA, Germany, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and India.

  • 2013

    Learning from the Masters. The expansion of the group becomes patent when the brands of Hojiblanca, leader in the Extra Virgin category in Spain along with Carbonell, are added to our portfolio.

  • 2015

    CVC becomes the major shareholder and backs the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and food safety, respecting the tradition of all Deoleo products and brands..

  • 2017

    We continue innovating. Deoleo fosters new product developments, based on research and innovation and following the principles of quality and sustainability in place since the very beginning
