Deoleo has achieved the Platinum medal from EcoVadis ranking among the top 1% of companies rated highest in ESG

We have achieved a score of 80 out of 100 in 2023 according to EcoVadis’ scale, moving from the Gold to the Platinum category, which places us among the top 1% of companies rated highest in ESG by the sustainability rating agency.

In our recent Integrated Sustainability Report, we highlight this and many other achievements reached in 2023, such as the 15% increase in certified oil mills under our Sustainability Protocol, Zero Waste Certification in our factories, and raising awareness among millions of people about the benefits of olive oil.

We have achieved the Platinum medal, the highest category of the EcoVadis seal, and we now rank among the top 1% of companies rated highest in ESG and corporate sustainability out of the 130,000 companies evaluated by EcoVadis globally.

This seal certifies our good practices in sustainability, obtaining an outstanding rating in the areas of Environment, Sustainable Procurement, and Labor Practices and Human Rights. It is the first year we have achieved the Platinum medal, after holding the Gold category since 2021, demonstrating our favorable evolution in sustainability-related aspects, which are one of our main pillars.

In the words of Ignacio Silva, President and CEO of Deoleo: “Achieving the highest distinction from EcoVadis is a source of great pride for all of us at Deoleo. This Platinum medal highlights the effort and determination of our company to achieve so many good practices globally in environmental, social, and governance aspects.”

The new milestone achieved by our company is detailed in our recent Integrated Sustainability Report, which also highlights many other achievements in ESG matters, such as the 15.5% increase in certified oil mills under our Sustainability Protocol, providing support since 2018 to over 52,000 farmers and 82 oil mills from six different countries, with a positive influence area on 292,749 hectares of olive groves.

Thanks to this protocol, we have ensured that all these oil mills received training on good ESG practices during 2023, that 97% of them already analyze the quality of their soils and record their water and energy consumption, and that 89% have signed a gender equality agreement.

Additionally, in the past year, we have maintained our Zero Waste Certification in our factories in Spain and Italy, achieved a valorization of 93.7% of the waste generated during 2023, and have educated over 67 million people worldwide on the nutritional value of olive oil, aiming to reach 150 million by 2030 through our leading brands: Carbonell, Bertolli, and Carapelli.
